Han van Heerde was born in 1965 and studied Civil Engineering both at the University of Delft and the Technical Highschool (evening school) in Rotterdam. He further developed his technical capabilities in the field through various technical training courses, such as internal auditing for quality assurance, computer programming, etc. His skills in management have been accumulated through field experience, through in-house management training courses and by participating in external audits for management training institutes.

As the CEO of The Future Is Now he gained experience in project and change management, initiation, inauguration up and guidance of activities, supervision of processes and works, conducting analysis and evaluation, market research, providing training, system management, development of various machines and devices, stimulation of international co-operation, support to organisational activities in diverse circumstances and various disciplines, initiation, installation and guidance of quality assurance and control, consulting with local, regional, national, supranational and international governments, institutes, organisations and commercial enterprises, execution and guidance of international tenders, initiation, inauguration, development, analysis, support and construction of various software programs, motivation, stimulation, coaching and training of various people during many activities.
